Rihanna’s make up line Fenty Beauty is finally here. It took almost two years of development and criticism to make her come up with her own makeup line. The collection was launched globally on September 7 and at her live streamed event in Brooklyn and is now available all across the world for purchase.

After experimenting with the best-of-the best in beauty products, she found an absence of products in the market that could perform well on all skin types and tones. She finally decided to launch her own makeup line with the tagline “so that women everywhere would be included,”. She focused on a wide range of traditionally hard to match skin tones, creating formulas that work for all skin types.

Fenty Beauty is made by Kendo Brands, Sephora’s indie label that also houses cult brand names like Kat Von D, Marc Jacobs Beauty and now, Fenty Beauty.

The Fenty Beauty collection is strongly complexion-focused. It’s a sad news for our eyeshadow and lipstick fans. Rihanna decided to launch without any palettes, eyeliner, mascara, or lipstick. There is one lip gloss, called the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer. It comes in a single shade of peachy bronze.The gloss has flecks of gold shimmer.


Here are seven different categories of products and each come in a mind-blowing assortment of variations to work for anyone, whether you’re an ultra-light skin tone in the 100s or a deep skin tone in the 500s.


The products are:

  • Pro Filt’r Retouch Primer (1 shade),
  • Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Foundation (40 shades!!),
  • Match Stix Matte Skinstick (can be used as concealer, matte highlighter, matte contour and more. Comes in 20 shades),
  • Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick (10 shades),
  • Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter (6 Shades),
  • Invisimatte Blotting Powder (1 shade)
  • Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer (1 shade).

In addition to the above list of products? Rih also dropped a basic line of matching tools, including highlight and foundation brushes with millennial pink tips, compact “portable” brushes in the same hexagon packaging as her Match Stix and even a roll of self-cutting blotting papers.

Not all of the products are made in the same place. The foundation, for example, is produced by an Italian manufacturer outside of Milan  All of the products are also 100% paraben, sulfate, phthalates and cruelty-free.
