ADELE- BODY SHAMING

Too thin, too fat- body shaming of all sizes is the order of the day for the female superstars. There are so many negative comments about overweight people on the internet. While some of these comments come from mean-spirited people, others think fat shaming will motivate overweight folks to lose weight.

Adele has always been a true inspiration in embracing her body and loving her curves

Adele was one such superstar who had to first face comments and criticism on her body than her work as a singer. Adele has been fat shammed in print for years. It was the first thing People noticed about her, as well asked about her. The tragedy about this is that Adele is such an amazing person by heart and as well such a beautiful woman. There is no perfect way to be the right women and, if you can actually bully such a lovely person, where would this ever end?

Situations Where Adele Has Handled Fat Shaming Like A Diva

  1. A few years back, Karl Lagerfeld allegedly called her” A little too fat”, the singer never directly responded to his comment but spoke to People and stated “I’ve never wanted to look like models on the cover of magazines. I represent most women and I’m proud of that”.
  2. During her interview with 60 minutes Australia, she stated that “It’s a little bit annoying that men don’t get asked such questions about their body types but other than that it seemed to astound people that I was plus size and being successful, that’s how I felt.
  3. In her cover story for Rolling Stone Magazine, Adele made it clear that she produces music for the ears and not for the eyes. ” I Love seeing Lady Gaga’s boobs and bum. I love seeing Katy Perry’s boobs and bum. Love it, but that’s not what music is about. I don’t make music for eyes, I make it for ears”
  4. That time when she told Anderson Cooper that she doesn’t want to be a “skinny mini” and stated “I Have never seen magazine covers and seen music videos and thought that I need to look like that if I want to be a success, I never want to be some skinny mini with my tits out”

Adele has been such a Boss in tackling all these comments and questions about her body type.

We need to stop this at this very moment, and we can do that by making people who shame others realise how this affects life of those who go through this and how dangerous it is for their minds and bodies both to be body shamed just because they don’t land into the definition of beauty and perfection set by the society.
