IIFA uncovered.

5 Jul , 2015

I think, hands down, the most awaited awards after Filmare are the IIFA, the International Indian Film Academy awards, presented annually by the International Indian Film Academy to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in Bollywood. Instituted in 2000, the ceremony is held every year in different countries around the world. This year the awards took place in Putu Indoor Stadium, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 7th June, 2015.

The fashion line for IIFA was designed by none other than Masaba Gupta. This announcement was very much predictable given her friendly and familial relations with the Colors CEO, Raj Nayak. The collection was inspired from the trophy. The  Fashion Extravaganza show was opened by Aditi Rao Hydari wearing a black long dress cut out from both the sides of the waist with a sequined drape over the shoulder. The show stoppers, Huma Qureshi and Malaika Arora Khan looked stunning wearing the black and gold combinations.

The red carpet at the awards night saw some biggies of the tinsel town descend.

Deepika Padukone, clutching the woman of the year award,  wore dazzling bejwelled sari by sabyasachi mukherjee . Talking to the media Deepika confessed that she feels the most comfortable in a sari while on a red carpet and old worn out pyjamas while chilling at home. Well, sari or gown, we totally love in whatever attire she chooses to wear.

Jacqueline Fernandez looked like a warrior princess as she wore a silver embroidered net cape with and embroidered blouse and a white leheng,  a piece from the latest collection of Anamika Khanna. The actress set the stage ablaze as she performed during the event even after undergoing a leg injury just a day before the main even while rehearsing for her performance.

Sonakshi Sinha chose to rock the red carpet wearing a black sophisticated Anamika Khanna number styled by her friend Sakshi Mehra, making her debut for the singing talent that she possesses.

Shraddha Kapoor looked gorgeous as always in georges chakra dress with an embellished bodice styled by the very talented Tanya Ghavri. She also paid a tribute to the legendary Subash Ghai during her performance.

Anushka Sharma fueled the red carpet wearing an elegant off-shoulder red gown by Gauri and Nainika styled by the street style expert, Allia Al Rufai.

Parineeti Chopra was seen going experimental as she wore a black Georges Chakra gown which was somewhat similar to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wore in Cannes.

Bipasha Basu looked red-hot in a custom-made Gauri and Nainika gown with a thigh high slit and louboutin shoes styled by Sanjana Batra.avc

Kirti Sanon looked pretty in toto as she wore a Georges Chakra white gown styled by Tanya Ghavri.

Malaika Arora Khan looked like a diva in a lavender Michael Cinco gown with intricate details styled by the lovely Maneka Harsinghani.

Aditi Rao Hydari had her cindrella moment as she walked the red carpet wearing Shantanu-Nikhil.

Hrithik Roshan was found wearing a red tux and meanwhile doing justice  to his title “ The Greek God ” .

Shahid Kapoor gave his classic tux with a disheveled look with an open collar as he got an award for the Best Male Artist for his exceptionally phenomenal work in Haider.

Ayushmann Khurana looked oh so in love as he walked the red carpet with his lovely wife, Tahira wearing a deep blue tux.

Farhan Akhtar looks so dapper and playful in Gaurav Mehta

The most beautiful couple who walked the red carpet were Ritiesh and Genelia

The night proved big for movies like –  Queen which swept awards including Best Actress, Best Movie, Best Story and Best Editing, Haider went big too as it clutched Best Actor, Best Actor in a Negative Role, Best Supporting Actress, Best Costume Design, Best Make up, Best Background Score, Best Sound Design, Best Sound Mixing and Best Art Direction. The ceremony was celebrated with great pomp and show which was pretty obvious given the fact that night was hosted by the two heartthrobs of B-town – Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor as they showcased their EPIC Bromance!
